Haven 48' Performance Cruiser Designed By Tom Wylie

Updated: Aug 2, 2021

Haven is a Wylie 48' performance cruiser that was launched in 2011 at Schooner Creek Boat Works. She was designed as a collaboration between Tom Wylie, the designer, and Kevin and Shauna Flanigan, the owners of Schooner Creek. Both the galley and settee are athwartship in a cavernous pilothouse. Additionally, an aft stateroom is to starboard and the navigation table is to port. Her large cockpit has access to the engine room and aft lazarettes. Forward of the pilot house steps down to the crew bunks, with a divider curtain across from the head, an ample shower, and sit-in bathtub. The forward V Berth is apportioned with custom wood storage lockers and drawers.

Haven is powered by a 40 hp Yanmar motor. Her fractional rig is a Ballenger spar which carries over 1,000 square feet of Doyle sails. One of her six Harken winches is electric drive. She has ample power from an Ocean Planet Energy system, including Genasun lithium batteries and Solbien solar panels.

She is built of fiberglass layers over foam core with epoxy finish. The decks are built with wood over foam. Haven draws 8' and weighs 19,000 lbs. She is fast and friendly.
