Holokai is a 45' Morrelli and Melvin-designed beach catamaran for the Waikiki area of Oahu, and was built at Schooner Creek Boat Works' Hayden Island facility in Oregon.
This sailing cat, launched in 2015 from Schooner Creek Boat Works, was built as a fully vacuumed infused hull and deck. It displaces 16,000 lbs. and her engine power is provided by twin Honda 50 hp outboards on custom retractable mounts. Sail power is provided by a fully battened North mainsail and jib. Sail trimming winches and deck hardware are all from Harken, and mast and boom are built by Ballenger spar with Harken winches. Railings are all fabricated of 316 stainless steel, custom built right at Schooner Creek Boat Works.
Her open deck design makes Holokai ideal for the day charter business. Holokai is operating daily from Waikiki beach using a descending forward stairway, and providing a variety of sailing excursions including whale watching, snorkel trips, and sunset cruises. This catamaran runs directly onto the beach for passenger boarding before setting off on any of her daily excursion tours.
