Hōkū Nui is a 47' catamaran designed by Morrelli and Melvin from their Holokai design. She now operates in Kona, HI for Sea Paradise. Hōkū Nui was launched at Schooner Creek Boat Works in August 2021.
She is a Coast Guard certified passenger vessel designed to carry 49 passengers, and is powered by twin 80 horsepower Yanmar inboard engines. She is a sailing vessel with a Balanger spar and Harken winches. She has custom-built aluminum boarding ladders off the stern stairways and outdoor freshwater showers at the top of each aft stairway. Bulwark opening doors on each side allow boarding from the dock. Hōkū Nui is built with two heads in the port hull and storage in the starboard hull. She has a covered seating area with open sides for ample viewing and airflow. A Lanai-style bar is aft of the seating area. Stairs in the forward part of the seating area allow access to the forward trampolines and bow fronts. Hōkū Nui will sail out of Keauhou Bay for Sea Paradise, which specializes in snorkel cruises and nighttime manta ray viewing.
